Can I Use The Law Of Attraction To Win The Lottery?

Post image for Can I Use The Law Of Attraction To Win The Lottery?

by Melody Fletcher on June 12, 2011

I get a lot of questions emailed to me regarding different applications or aspects of the Law of Attraction. This one came up three times in the last week, so I figured it’s time to write a blog post about it and answer it in teensy weensy detail. The question is: “Can I use the Law of Attraction to win the lottery?”

The short answer

Yes. Yes you can. You can use the law of attraction to manifest anything you want. Period. No exceptions. Ever.

The long and much more detailed answer

So, why haven’t you won the lottery yet? You’ve wanted to for ages. You’ve wished for it, you’ve prayed about it, you stuck a lottery ticket to your vision board and fantasized about your Lamborghini and the Jacuzzi you’ll have when you hit the jackpot. If you really can use LOA to win a few million dollars, then why haven’t you?

Well, just because you have the ability to do something, doesn’t mean that it’s necessarily the easiest or even the best way. If you’re standing at the bottom of a high rise building wearing a jetpack, you could try to fly to the top. You’d probably crash a bunch of times, landing you in the hospital, but eventually, after much healing and practice and once you’re on solid foods again, you could make it. Or, you could just take the stairs. It might seem like more work at first (until you realize that flying a jet pack isn’t all that easy), and it’s definitely not nearly as glamorous, but you’ll get there in one piece and most likely well before you’ve figured out how to fly.

Here’s what it takes to win the lottery

In order to win the lottery using LOA (and really, you wouldn’t win it any other way. EVERYTHING that happens, happens because of the law of attraction. The only question is whether it happens deliberately or not), you have to line up several things:

You have to believe you can do it

You have to really, truly believe that you CAN and WILL win the lottery. Any thought such as “Only other people win”, “only old people or foreigners win”, or “It’s a long shot”, will sabotage your chances. You have to remove all contradictory beliefs and thoughts.

You have to drastically raise your money vibration

You have to line up with the frequency of increasing your wealth by that much money in one go. If you’re currently making $30.000 a year, then that’s where your vibration is at. You may want to earn and have more, but your physical reality is always a representation of your current vibration. So, in order to win the lottery, you’ll have to raise your vibration around money to the degree that it allows a few cool million to come into your life. That’s quite a quantum jump.

The reason why most lottery winners can’t hang on to their winnings

75% of all multi-million dollar lottery winners are broke within 5 years. This isn’t because most people that play the lottery are just horrible at managing money. It’s because they drastically raised their vibration around money for long enough to allow the millions to flow in. But there’s a reason why quantum jumps – drastic jumps in vibration – aren’t desirable: they’re nearly impossible to hold onto. So, when someone bumps their energy up by a few million dollars, they win, and then they begin to slide right back down to where they were before they hit the lottery. And as their vibration drops, so does their bank account balance.

So, even if you manage to raise your vibration enough to let in that much money at once, you’ll most likely fail to hold onto it, unless you can find a way to permanently raise your money vibration.

What’s your actual goal?

Do you want to win the lottery, or do you want to be rich? Because the two are not the same thing. You can win a couple of thousand dollars in the lottery. You’ll be a lottery winner, but is that what you had in mind? Or, you can win millions and then proceed to lose them all, leaving you more miserable than you were before. Is that what you wanted? I’m guessing not.

What you really want is probably more along the lines of a fantastic and easy lifestyle. You want financial security, the freedom to buy whatever you want, the ability to help others, etc. When you envision yourself having won the lottery, I’ll bet you never see yourself afraid of losing it all, worrying about how to invest and manage it and making lots of mistakes (nor should you really.) But unless you actually clean up your vibration, instead of achieving a temporary spike, those old fears will definitely come back to bite you in the ass.

The best way to permanently raise your money vibration

You’re not going to want to hear this, but I’m going to say it anyway. The best way to raise your vibration around any subject is gradually. Now, by gradually, I don’t mean that it has to necessarily take years, although it can.  That’s really up to you.

How you do know where your current money vibration is? Look at your current income level and lifestyle. Where is your comfort level at? When you go to an expensive restaurant, do you bitch about the prices? Do you look at the price of clothing and think “I can’t afford that?” Do you envy people with nice cars or houses? Do you make derogatory statements about rich people? If you want to be one of the rich, you can’t hate the rich. Period.

You have to think and behave as though you have more money than you do. That doesn’t mean that you have to go out and spend money you don’t have. When you see something you like, just appreciate it, without looking at the price tag. A rich person wouldn’t care. Rich people don’t buy everything they see, either. They might like a car, but choose not to buy it at that moment. They might decide that they have enough cars, and that they don’t really need it at that moment. They might decide to keep shopping to see if there’s something even better out there. But at no time are they thinking “I can’t afford that.” The program they’re running is “I could buy that, but I choose not to right now.”

The more you’re able to get into the feeling of that thought, and the more comfortable you are around expensive things (they make you feel good and appreciative instead of resentful and poor), the higher your money vibration is. It’s much easier to do this little by little than all at once.

Why limit the Universe’s channels of distribution?

As you raise your financial vibration, the Universe will find a myriad of ways to bring you more moolah. You could get a raise, inherit a bit of cash, sell your novel, find a better job, have a fantastic business idea that becomes ever more profitable, etc. And you could possibly win the lottery.

If, however, you decide that your fortunes MUST come by winning the lottery, what you’re telling the Universe is: “No, I don’t want the raise that will give me $5.000 more a year. I want to win the lottery, thanks.” “Nope, not the $50.000 advance on my book, either. I’ll hold out for the lottery.” “Oh no, I don’t want my auntie Edna to give me $100.000. I’m waiting for the lottery.” You are actively blocking the Universe’s attempts to bring you more money, and limiting its channels of distribution to one. Now, that would actually work, providing that you don’t keep checking to see if you’ve won the lottery and then lamenting the fact that you didn’t. Every time you think “Why haven’t I won the lottery yet?!?!”, you’re actually pushing it away. Since it can take quite some time to change your vibration enough to let that kind of money in (as opposed to the smaller but gradually increasing amounts the Universe could’ve brought you in different ways), you’ll have to be very, very patient. And let’s face it, most of us aren’t.

You CAN manifest anything you want, but…

So yes, you can manifest truly anything you want, but some manifestations are definitely easier than others. Anything that feels like a huge deal, like it’s going to change your life in one fell swoop, is most likely a huge vibrational shift – a quantum jump. They’re incredibly difficult to achieve and nearly impossible to hold on to. It’s possible to make that kind of a shift, but improbable and not really desirable.

If you want to be a millionaire, focus on the lifestyle you want and then gradually change your beliefs and thoughts, while letting the Universe slowly and steadily change your physical reality to reflect those shifts. The chances are very good that using this approach, you’ll get to that million dollars much faster than if you keep concentrating on winning the lottery. Not because the Universe couldn’t deliver it to you immediately if you lined up your energy, but because you’re much more inclined to get in your own way. The larger the desire, the harder time you’ll have believing in its existence before it shows up in your physical reality. If you keep checking and seeing that it’s not there yet, if you keep focusing on its absence, you will keep sabotaging your manifestation.

Slow, steady and stable

Slow, steady and stable progress can lead to your desired result much faster than you might imagine. It might not be instantaneous, but what if your income doubled every six months? What if instead of a mansion, you moved into a bigger house every two years? Sure, a house full of servants would be nice, but how about starting with a cleaning lady first?

Increase your comfort level and your standard of living over time, and then, when you’ve got your millions, you’ll have no problem holding onto them.

Finally, now I know why I’m not rich! But seriously, after reading this article, I realize that I never really wanted to be rich. I want security, peace of mind, and just a few niceties of life. Heck, I’m already mostly there (the security part, that is). Just working on the extras now, haha! Sounds like learning to shift my vibration to this state wouldn’t be so hard… Thanks for the insight Melody!

You just make LOA so practical! This makes so much sense. Too many times we want something at so many levels beyond where we are that we sabotage ourselves from ever achieving it. At the same time we think its a waste of time to think in smaller scales because we want the millions not the hundreds. But deep down inside we can not conceive of actually being a millionaire the rest of our lives. I’ll take the hundreds and thousands according to my comfort level. I’m at a point where I want to start at ground zero to allow for lasting results not the quickie… Don’t get me wrong a good quickie has its place but give me something I can sink my teeth into for the long haul. :0)

Melody Fletcher June 12, 2011 at 22:17

LOL Kim, that really made me laugh. I’m not sure where the belief come from that things that take a bit longer aren’t worth it. But it’s pervasive in all areas of life and things like the lottery, get rich quick schemes and weight loss gimmicks feed into that. Once we overcome it, we can make huge amounts of progress. Go Kim!! :)

I love this line… “What you really want is probably more along the lines of a fantastic and easy lifestyle.”

The thing is, people really believe that winning the lottery and having lots of money will provide them with this. While it’s true to a degree, it’s also true (as you point out) that suddenly having lots of money doesn’t bring you lots of happiness. We are too engaged with the idea that money = happiness. They are two totally different things.

What people are really looking for is having lots of happiness and doing something that brings meaning to their lives. When you do that, the money isn’t an issue anyway!

Great info, thanks. Dan.

Melody Fletcher June 13, 2011 at 12:49

Hi Dan,
Thanks so much for your comment. A big part of this work is digging down and figuring out what we really want. A lot of our desires are just a means to an end – something we think we need in order to achieve the thing that we really want. And that includes money.

Melody

Yes indeed, Melody. The law of attraction is always in action! Nothing ever comes to us unless we first feel worthy of receiving it. Feeling marvelously made and worthy of all that is good and beautiful is a lifetime commitment to living from our Authentic Nature – this is not a quick fix! If the same folks were truly living from their Authentic Nature they would probably find that winning the lottery is just not as important as say, attracting harmonious relationships.

Melody Fletcher June 14, 2011 at 12:16

Thanks Rob! Winning the lottery is just a means to an end. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to be financially free or even super rich, as long as that’s the true motivation. Usually, it isn’t…

Justin | Mazzastick June 13, 2011 at 15:11

Hi Melody,
I had the same reality as what you wrote in regards to holding a vibration. I would rather have the gradual abundance and ease into it. Perhaps royalties and residual income. But any means would be fine for me.

There was a local guy where I lived who won the powerball and walked a way with $36 million. He was an accountant by trade but he was also a Wiccan Priest. I would guess that he used the law of attraction and vibration in order to help him manifest his winnings.

Melody Fletcher June 14, 2011 at 12:19

That’s a great story, Justin. If he was a Wiccan priest, hopefully he raised his vibration permanently, so he was able to hold on to the money. :)

Hi Melody,

I absaloutly love this post! In fact, I’m print it. ;) You have explained very well how to raise our vibration regarding money. This is the domain that I am working on to master in my life. The approach that you outlined is easy to follow approach that helps people not constantly worry why they don’t have the money they need right now, but instead to gradually increase every few month. The question is how much action is needed? For me personally, when I’m in harmony and peace with something, that “something” comes to me easier. The “being in harmony” concept has made me manifest many great things I want. Now, I’m trying to be in harmony with the money domain. Thanks for sharing Melody, great post :)

Melody Fletcher June 14, 2011 at 12:24

You’re so welcome Dia. Thank you so much for your wonderful words. You made a great point: When you align your energy, the action comes naturally and easily. You’re just inspired to it. Trying to take action without aligned energy is the hard way to do it.

Melody

Patricia June 13, 2011 at 20:51

I have been working on my feelings of being worthy this past year, because for so many years that was the message – “unworthiness” – that I heard repeatedly. I find if I see something that I want, truly want, I bless it and then imagine how it would feel to achieve it.

A cleaning person is high up on my list. As a matter of fact I saw the team arrive next door this morning and just stopped in my tracks and blessed them for their good work, and then imagined how satisfied I would feel coming home to my clean house :)

I keep getting stuck on weight issues and letting go…

now I am off to clean the bathrooms – aren’t I lucky I have 3 bathrooms to clean because I have 8 people coming to dinner and to discuss Robin Easton’s book Naked in Eden. Lucky me.

Patricia June 14, 2011 at 12:12

I was so busy thinking about me – I forgot to say that this was such a good explanation of LOA and winning the money…how to be open to attracting the money

One really needs to see where the blocks are and the stone walls, this is a bit like huffing and puffing to ascend those stairs. Instant pudding syndrome!

Melody Fletcher June 14, 2011 at 12:27

No worries Patricia! I really appreciate you offering your personal insights. And I love how you bless the cleaning lady! Ha, ha.
And thanks so much for your wonderful words.

The lottery isn’t the key to success.
You should use the Law of Attraction to ask for wealth and if the lottery turns out to be the best way to get that wealth, you will win.

But it is like they say in the Secret, the how is the realm of the universe.
You should ask for the money and the universe will show you how to make that money.

Melody Fletcher June 14, 2011 at 12:28

Exactly! Thanks for stopping by Daniel. Always great to hear from you.

Todd | Channelingmyself June 20, 2011 at 00:27

Hi Melody,

This is a subject that has really gotten a lot of my attention since I started applying the LOA in my life. I do believe we can use the LOA to win the lottery, what I still don’t understand is those people we read about that win and whether or not they applied the LOA to win.

I know we can say they did it subconsciously but that still leaves the mystery why would they win it when they weren’t consciously trying to while those who are can’t win. I feel that there are times when people win the lottery because of the LOA and I believe there are times when people just get lucky.

If I had the time and the resources I would like to try and find an answer to that question. I would start interviewing people who won and try and determine if they intentionally used the LOA, unintentionally, or had really no clue either way. Bet it would make a good book.

Melody Fletcher June 20, 2011 at 09:33

Hi Todd,

What an excellent question. Here’s my understanding of it:

Everything in our reality is there as a response to our vibrational offering. Everything. There’s nothing that isn’t created using the LOA. But most of it is done unconsciously, even for those of us who know this stuff, and we’re certainly in the minority. But creating unconsciously doesn’t just create unwanted things. There are many people out there who have amazing lives and who are really happy, but who have no idea what the LOA is. They may just think they’re lucky or blessed. It doesn’t really matter. Creation doesn’t depend on our ability to remember the mechanism. Only deliberate creation does. As long as someone lines up with the energy of what they want, which can be done consciously or unconsciously, they will get what they want.

I’d love to read interviews of lottery winners. I’m sure that you’d find that they had one thing in common – no resistance to winning the lottery. I’m sure they would share some elements of their mindset. I’d definitely buy that book. :)

Hugs,
Melody

Tino October 25, 2011 at 04:19

It’s funny how so many people that actually do win the lottery say that “they always knew they would win.”

You say in your post that it could take years and that rings true with the multitudes of people that play for years, all the while “knowing” that they would win one day. I guess that when they think this way and the day finally comes that they actually win, it’s not such a shock.

That’s exactly right. When something feels like a big deal, you’re nowhere near it vibrationally. But when you’re lined up with it, it just feels natural and not shocking at all.

Hi Melody,

I watched an interesting Bashar video about the lottery and what he said made perfect sense. Most people “hope” they will win, they also “hope” they picked the right numbers. When what really needs to happen is to align ourselves with the reality where we’ve already won, regardless of what the numbers are.
Todd | Channelingmyself invites you to read..Treading Water & Getting Short of BreathMy Profile

Melody Fletcher February 14, 2012 at 21:13

Ha! Right on, Todd! the numbers don’t matter. And, in fact, the lottery doesn’t really matter. Figure out what you REALLY want and then align with that reality and let it come to you in the best possible way.
For example, sure, I’d love to be a millionaire. But I see getting a huge dump of money as kind of a hassle. I’d honestly rather let the money trickle in and built more slowly, so I can learn how to handle it as I go. So for me, a lottery win might be fun, but it certainly wouldn’t be the BEST way to get my riches… :)

Hi Melody,
You have answered a lot of my questions. Thank you. I would like to know your thoughts about the dream world. As long as I can remember when I needed to be guided the answer would come in dream form. Since I started following the LOA every time change was coming I got an insite of what was coming. Before I go to bed I ask the universe to guide me and tell me I’m on the correct path. Lately the dreams show me I’m close to the goals and that even if I wanted to it’s to late to turn back. Everything is in motion and just bout to happen. (Exact words in the dream)
Am I barking mad? Does the universe do things like this? . I’m not religious so I don’t think it’s a devine intervention.
Thank you,
janette

Hi Melody,

Well since the last time I spoke to you a few good things happened. They are still floating in the air so don`t want to give to much away at this minute. Don`t worry will let you know as soon as things have unfolded.

What I will say is that your blog has helped me so much. Finally somebody that tells it as it is.

I went in to your website to learn how to win the lotto (this is what my dreams are about that I mentioned before. Out of desperation I asked the universe to tell me if I was waisting my time and this is when I dreamt that it was to late to turn back, everything was in motion and even if I wanted to I couldn’t turn back). Anyhow, off the track a bit, as I was reading your blog you said that its better to become rich slowly than fast as you could loose it all cause of keeping hold of the vibrations. Well I thought, she couldn’t possibly know what she is talking about, I`ll keep hold of that money. And as I thought about it more and more I came to understand you know what your talking about and I don`t… I’m not used to using all this words in the one sentence, need a minute ;)

And as soon as I admitted and accept that its better that I allow the vibrations to take the natural vibrations to riches It all started to happen, as I said all will be revealed.

That is not to say I have forgotten about the lotto, I know I will win it, I just have put a few eggs from that basket in to some other baskets for now.

And for all this I thank the Universe and my guide for guiding me to you, and I thank you for sharing for knowledge.

lots of hugs

Janette

Melody Fletcher June 6, 2012 at 01:36

Hey Janette,

Bravo! Thanks so much for the update. You know, the Universe doesn’t care if you want to become rich fast or slow. The whole idea behind being ok with it happening more slowly is to get yourself to take the pressure off. That’s what you experienced. When you stopped pushing for it to happen quickly, you released resistance and money started to flow in. It’s all about allowing it to happen. :)

Thanks so much for keeping me in the loop. I can’t wait to hear the details of what’s going on when you’re ready. :)

Huge happy shiny puppy hugs!

Kane August 6, 2012 at 07:35

What if you were using it for good reason?

I want to win just enough to pay some medical bills so I can work and make my own money, get driving lessons, pay back some people and fix some things.

I don’t expect it to fix my life but money sure would help get it launched and the driving lessons in particular so I can start my own business.

So all I have to do is raise it enough to get that small win that covers those cost?

Yeah I think I can believe and justify that! :-)

Or would I have a better time imaging things I wanted rather than needs like something silly like a top hat suit with monocle–something fun?

Melody Fletcher August 6, 2012 at 17:27

Hey Kane,

You can manifest anything you want. The only one judging whether or not it’s ok based on if you need it or not is you. The Universe doesn’t make that distinction. You have to feel deserving of the manifestation, though, or you can’t receive it. So, if you don’t think it’s ok to get more money than you absolutely need, then you’ll block it. The Universe will always be trying to send it to you, but you have to let it in.

When you ask, it is given. There is no judgment at all of your desires. Except your own…

I hope that was helpful.

Mimi August 24, 2012 at 03:01

My question is regarding extreme lotto wins and those people who blow through the money and end up where they were before or worse off. Of course there are plenty of winners who manage their money wisely. If those in the first group end up proving their lack of wealth consciousness, then wouldn’t it make sense to think they couldn’t have aligned themselves vibrationally to manifest such a tremendous amount of money to begin with? So assuming it isn’t just randomness, how do those who end up being cash poor again manage to create the lotto wins in the first place?

Mimi August 24, 2012 at 03:04

Of course assuming it was unintentional on their part since most who win just think they’re lucky.

Melody Fletcher August 26, 2012 at 20:24

Hey Mimi,

Whether the win was intentional or not doesn’t really matter. The thing is, we always assume that a lottery win would be a manifestation of positive alignment, when in fact, in cases like this, it’s actually more of a manifestation of resistance. Being given a huge amount of money only to have it trickle through your fingers, the feelings of lack of control, of being overwhelmed, the fear that comes up, possibly paranoia, and more – these are not feelings of alignment. These people manifested a lottery win, not because they were aligned with abundance, but because they resisted it BIG TIME. All their fears around money blew right up in their faces. What better way to mirror that than to receive a bunch of money very quickly?

I hope that makes sense. :)

Hey Melody,

So, we need to focus on what we want, appreciate everything around us and what we want and be open to all the possibilities. That is basically what I got here. Things are gradual for a reason!

nice post and commentary!

Melody Fletcher September 21, 2012 at 16:21

Hey Kat,

The key is to focus on what you REALLY want, instead of what you think you need to get to have it. Then, allow it to come in whatever way is best, acknowledging that you may not be aware of what that way is.

And yes. Gradual is often WAY better than fast, which can be totally overwhelming. I’ve found that out many times in my life. Suddenly tons of wanted stuff shows up, but so fast that you can’t really enjoy it. Slower and more gradual is better. :)

Hi Melody

After reading your article here I wanted to say thank you for your knowledge and your generosity to share this with us all.

I am a firm believer that you become what you believe, even before I learned that it’s called LOA. I had been raising my vibrations this year by focusing on and attracting great things and great people into my life, it has worked wonders in just a small amount of time this year alone and I am truly grateful and appreciative to have the people in my life.

I want to know what your thoughts are regarding this, I have learnt to appreciate money and what it can bring, and also that it shouldn’t be relied upon, but the thing is I still believe that I will win big on the lottery, even after repeatedly asking myself what matters most…

It would be an honour to hear your thoughts.

Thanks so much for this post. I asked the Universe to help me on a decision I have been finding hard to make, just to TELL me what I should do and this post gave me the answer. I feel much better now. I will bookmark your blog to read through the other posts.

Thanks again :)

Cheers,
Mariyam

Hi Melody,

I know it’s a few months since I said I would let you know what I had attracted. And if it hadn’t been for you I wouldn’t have started the long road.
Back in June I had applied for a job in a multinational company I used to work for here in Ireland. I didn’t really want that job so I concentrated and decided that what I wanted was a job that I could do order processing, process maps, Project work and reporting. Well that didn’t happen. After a month of holding my breath they decided to hirer internally, wasn’t meant to be. At the end of September I decided to go to the library and I took out the power and the magic by Rhonda Byrne. In the magic there is a step that says yo pick your main problem and think about what your grateful for cause if that problem. Well I needed a job. I was tired of being positive with no result. So I wrote everything I was grateful for because I didn’t have a job. One of the things, biggest thing, was that I got to see my boy grow every day. One week later a get a call from one of the energy providers in Ireland offering me an interview for a position of order processing, process maps, project work and reporting. I had two interviews the following week and started working the next Monday.
I am very grateful to you cause I wouldn’t have know what I wanted until I stumbled upon your website.
Thank you, thank you, thank you

That’s fantastic Janette! I’m so glad you found a way to shift to a better feeling vibration. Sometimes you just have to keep trying different things until you find one that works. I’m happy that this site could be a small part of the process.

Huge hugs!!

Denise November 19, 2012 at 02:11

Hello. Thanks for this great website; i’m learning alot!
I guess you could say i am fairly new to LOA though i’ve been Wiccan for years (seems to me that spellwork and using LOA are the same thing, though with spells you use tools to help focus your intentions and bring faster results, am i right?). Anyhow i have been trying to use LOA to win the lottery for a long time. I’m not trying to win a ginormous multi-million dollar jackpot, just enough to pay off all my debt and start over, without going through bankruptcy. Like my debt is so bad i work 2 jobs and make just enough that all the bills get paid, but without enough left over to buy groceries for the kids, let alone buy lotto tickets sometimes! It also doesn’t help that my teen daughter constantly reminds me of how broke we are. Anyway a few years ago i did the “Secret Check”, nothing came about. Then recently i read your post about writing a letter to the Universe and i did that, and actually saw “signs” less than an hour after i wrote it. It seemed like it was working, i was winning on every ticket even if only $2, and seeing signs everywhere. Then i “backslid”. The letting go is the hard part. I think i need to ritually burn the letter (it’s currently in a box of stuff i don’t often use). Obviously i’ve been focusing on “is today the day” so i’ve actually attracted more debt and urgency for money (like the landlord suddenly going back on payment arrangements of the sewer bills). ANYHOW my question relating to this post is, is it so wrong to want to win the lotto? Just enough to feel comfortable and have breathing room? I’m actively working on trying to find better-paying jobs, i don’t have any rich relatives to die and leave me money, and i’m trying to come up with creative ways to make money that aren’t scammy. I know the “whys” of what i want and i’m not actively trying to block other ways of monetary abundance coming in, but somehow i must be. But the most i’ve ever won has been a few hundred dollars, and that was 2 years ago. I want a large sum of money now and i’m depressed about it. What if i focussed on just the lotto itself, manifesting a big win – is that so bad/wrong? It IS hard to believe it when it doesn’t show up.
I guess i answered my own questions but i’m looking for some helpful tips and/or encouragement. :)
Thanks,
Denise

Melody Fletcher November 19, 2012 at 14:40

Hey Denise,

First of all, yes, Wiccan spells are a way to focus on what you want, and it’s very, VERY LOA. :)

Second, you are blocking the money. First of all, you’re super focused on the fact that you don’t have any and need more. Even when you’re talking about creating money, that’s the prevalent vibration. Second, you’re WAY too focused on it having to be to lottery or coming up with some other way to earn money. That’s not your job. You’re micromanaging the process, trying to tell the Universe how it has to come, thinking that you have to figure that part out. You don’t. And trying to do so blocks the energy.

You need to remember that the biggest measure of success is when you feel good. How does all this feel right now? Not too good. So, you’re not aligned with what you want. Spend some time focusing in a way that truly feels good. Let go of the need to control the process. Get really, really general. For example, you can focus on the core feeling of freedom and come up with examples (that have nothing to do with money) that feel like that. You can focus on abundance, but in a general way. Look at the abundance in nature (that won’t trigger you nearly as much as looking at human abundance). Do that for just a few minutes and notice how much lighter you feel. That’s your indicator that you’re on the right path. Next, once you feel a bit better, make lists of everything in your life that you truly appreciate. And if you go off on a negative tangent (the yeah but… mode), just gently bring yourself back to appreciation. Spend as much time appreciating as you can. This will shift you.

Get off the specifics for now, they are not serving you at all. Focus on feeling good and let the new specifics, the ones that feel good like that manifest. The thoughts and ideas and circumstances will come. But you can’t find them from where you’re at. And you can’t find them at all. You have to allow them to come to you, like working with feral kittens, really. Start going after them and they’ll run away. But emanate peace and love and they’ll slowly but surely come towards you. It’s a bit like that. You’ve been scaring the kittens away. Stop scaring the kittens. (the kittens are your money, in case you missed that…) ;)

I hope that helped.

Huge hugs!!

Thanks sooo much! I guess i needed it spelled out even more! There is wisdom in the Christian saying “let go & let God” (or Gods, Universe, etc!). Just gotta put my pride aside & get the hail out the way LOL!

Luiz Afonso January 7, 2013 at 04:27

Hi Melody, congratulations for your blog… my name is Luiz Afonso , I’m Brazilian I’d like so much of pdf book and your audio book. I’m learning English as second language and study the Law of Attraction too, it helps a lot in both cases, and I will pass the material for another friend of mine in order to study English and learn the Law of Attraction.
I have one critic to do not to the material or the blog but to the figure of money as toilet paper in the article “Can I Use The Law Of Attraction To Win The Lottery?” it pass to me the idea that people can get money and become opulent ad arrogant to use it as toilet paper and at the same time stupid for lack of wisdom to use it correctly in his or her life.
A second idea that the image pass to me is that “we can study Law of Attraction but do we really understand it to practice it correctly?”
Thanks for the opportunity to learn your point of view and for the space to express my opinion.

Melody Fletcher January 17, 2013 at 15:36

Hey Luiz,

It’s great to meet you! It seems I have quite a few readers in Brazil. :)

Your reaction to the picture is telling you something about your own beliefs – a fear that you will not use your new “powers” responsibly. I actually wrote a blog post about that, which you can find here: http://www.deliberateblog.com/2012/12/04/will-loa-make-me-too-powerful/

The way I teach LOA, becoming better at manifesting goes hand in hand with self awareness. This means that as you get more “powerful” (you don’t really, you just realize more and more of the power that’s been there all along), you also become more and more enlightened. True power comes with true wisdom. If you’re not practising it correctly, in this case, if you were to use LOA to try and harm others, for example, you would not be able to do so. And by the time you develop the kind of focus necessary to deliberately influence others, you have a full understanding that flowing energy only truly happens when you go for the win-win, the benefit of all concerned. Acquiring that focus necessitates reaching that understanding.

Also, money does not make people arrogant. Money only intensifies the vibration that’s already there. It amplifies it. So, if you are a kind and secure person who then gets a lot of money, you’ll be a kind, secure, rich person. If you have tons of insecurities, money will make them worse, and that can lead to arrogance and like.

I hope that was helpful.

Huge hugs!!

Hi Melody,

I found your blog about a week ago & been working on reading through the posts (looks like it’ll take a while, lol). Lots of great stuff here!

I want to win a lottery jackpot, but after thinking about it, I decided I don’t want it just for the money. There are lots of ways I could get/receive/find money! I decided I’d like to win for the experience of doing it, a once-in-a-lifetime thing.

The big block I’ve noticed for doing this is the numbers though, I’m sure the numbers don’t matter, but checking to see if I matched them brings up all the doubts & sure enough… none of them match! There might be other blocks I’m not seeing too, but that’s the obvious one.

I’d love to get some coaching with you for this & other stuff, but I’ll have to wait on some of the money I know is coming. (The rest of this semester’s tuition refund! yay!)

Melody Fletcher January 30, 2013 at 21:16

Hey Laurie,

Take your time, LOL. Most people can barely keep up with what I publish every week, he, he.

First of all, stop expecting the numbers not to match. Why would you do that?! Expect to smile, to have a good feeling result. Either you’ll win something or you’ll find it funny that you didn’t. But expect to feel good. You can’t expect to be disappointed and get a good feeling result… :)

Huge hugs!

James March 2, 2013 at 22:17

So… It’s been about a year since I discovered the Law of Attraction, and I realized I have been applying the Law of Attraction in a negative way. My family and I have always struggled for money, and we always thought “I wish I was rich.” Or “We can’t afford that right.” And with those negative thoughts going out into the universe the universe responded accordingly by giving us more reasons to wish we were rich or never allowed to afford anything!
NOW! On to the good news! After I started applying the law of attraction things are getting nicer. I still haven’t received the large sums of money I would prefer… But I’ve been entering different sweepstakes similar to lottery… because one of these days… I’m gonna win.
But the Universe is responding accordingly as I tell myself I’m a money magnet. I’m finding about 5 cents worth of spare change on the street every week! The universe is responding to my thoughts! Now it’s only a matter of time before I get the money I want.

By the way. I enjoy this blog! I signed up for the newsletter. :-)

Hey James,

Thanks so much for sharing your experience! Keep up the great work. It will get better. Appreciate those 5 cents and you’ll find more, soon! :)

David March 14, 2013 at 01:00

Hi Melody – Terrific blog! Found you via a Google search on “Can I use the Law of Attraction” to win the lottery?” Bottom-line, I think your suggestions and philosophy make perfect sense – this is one instance where being TOO specific (i.e., restricting one’s request for wealth to “winning the lottery”) can backfire. That said, can you suggest a generic, non-specific affirmation to attract and create wealth in my life so that instead of asking to win the lottery, I ask for the wealth to create the lifestyle I want for me and my family as quickly as possible and then leave it to the Universe to determine whatever way is best, acknowledging that I may not be aware of what that way is?

Thanks in advance for your help with this.

David

Hi,

I stumbled on your website accidentally and I am glad I did. I am a Christian and wonder if LOA aligns with Christian beliefs. I think I have been operating under LOA without realizing it. In college, I remember visualizing getting into a relationship with the man of my dreams at the time and lo and behold it happened! Last year, I made a statement to a friend that my daughter would attend private school (I at the time had no financial means to make that happen) and she is in a private school this year, tuition free. I have always had an overwhelming feeling that we would be wealthy and I would win the lottery. We do need the menu because of student loans becoming due and other bills. Any advice on how to make this happen sooner rather than later:)

Let me chip in here – if I may: did Jesus Christ not say something like: even if your faith is the size of a mustard seed you can perform miracles? Are miracles only healing the sick?

I don’t get why its such a big deal to win a lotto. Firstly there are lotteries of say $3 million and then those that are $300 million. So winning $3 million for Joe Soap is no bigger deal that someone, that has been unemployed for months and doesn’t have next months rent, to manifest $2000. That’s like saying LOA works with the small stuff, like attracting people that somehow will make it possible for you to earn the million, but don’t bet that that million is going to fall in your lap due to a lotto win? Both Joe Soap and Mr. Unemployed are going to have to raise their vibrations in equal measure respective to their circumstances. So my point is that someone that is a multi-millionaire (and vibrating MONEY) should then be able to just keep on winning them huge lotto’s! – Dang it sucks to be poor. No Maserati and no bitches neither! ;)

In the part of winning money gradually,i must be honest:I am a person that thinks big,and i’m not really the kind of patient person. And when i say that i want to win the lottery,is because i REALLY want to win the money i want by that way.Actually i want it for many years:to be more specifc,it’s because of the experience, the easyness, etc. And since i always have been kind of a skeptical person, and since i don’t work too,(i am economically dependent),that’s really the only way that i can believe to win the millions i want to win.I say this because i tried before to think that way:”i will get that money without being by the euromillions”.period.But nothing will really happen. Why?Because i couldn’t believe that i was going to win that money without being the lottery,i just COULDN’T believe in that.I tried, but it didn’t work. And besides, this time i really have that feeling that i am gonna win it,so i think i will bet for the “bump and bruises” way.Thank you anyway melody for the posting.Gave me some insights.

Great article. Seems I have a few emotional blocks to deal with first. I’ve attracted money before but I lost it quickly too. I would pray for hours and I did this for a few years before anything really happened.

For example I won free rent for a year in my apartments for 2 years! Was the best most awesome feeling I’ve ever had in my whole life.

Came into some money recently but I blew a good portion on lottery. I know now why I didn’t win anything. My energy was horrible, I did not believe I could win, I was in a space where I wanted to win so bad and I was left wanting and that was because the Universe echoes/mirrors back to us what we are/who we are being. For me I was in a desperate need to win and what I RECEIVED was more feelings of desperation and neediness. I could go on and on but I learned a valuable lesson from that experience.

I would love to win the lottery just for the wonderful thrill of feeling surprised and excited and loved through the Universe’s giving. I felt that way before and I just want that feeling to continue to flow to me consistently.

Reading your article made me realize that I have to put more positive energy in all areas of my life to change my vibration. I have to find something that triggers me into feeling happy and loved. Animals (especially baby animals) is a great trigger.

I have to admit I’m not the most happiest person a lot of the times I’m agitated so it takes an enormous shift for me to change my inner world.

I could go on but I wanted to thank you. I asked the Universe to help me and voila! I found your blog.

I feel so at peace and so relieved right now. I know the Universe directed me to this blog.

I’ve looked for answers before but never got an answer so quickly so I know it’s LOA that attracted me to you/this blog. I look forward to reading more of your articles.

Thank you so much and keep up the great work!

I won the lottery twice and wrote a Law of Attraction book called “Manifest Your Millions: A Lottery Winner Shares his Law of Attraction Secrets.” Its on Amazon.

Marc November 16, 2013 at 07:14

Hi,

I’m the national lottery winner of New Zealand. I played the lotto for 25 years without winning any big prizes, before finally hitting the big one in August ’12. with the winnings I travelled Europe, especially enjoying Scotland and France.

I didn’t know about LOA at the time I won, although every time I bought a ticket, I always thought I’d win :D

But its really quite odd…in the week I won I did something I had never (in the past 25 years of playing) done before….I had appealed to super-intelligence (a higher power as were, a silent prayer) for aid…… and some voice or intuition told me to recycle the same numbers I had played in the previous week….when I did this, I won.

After reading self-help books I stumbled on ‘The Law of Attraction’ (I especially like the short Kindle e-books on the topic by Joss Conlon), and thought it would be fun to see if I could win again.

I started playing a daily lottery game called ‘Bullseye’, where you have to pick a number up to 999 999 and the closer you get to the number, the more you win (you hit the jackpot if get the exact number). I thought I’d apply LOA principles, trying to visualize when I went to buy the tickets.

When I go to buy the tickets, I first try to put myself in a positive frame of mind, being grateful for my previous win and what it did for me, visualize me winning and travelling the world again.

Then I, in effect, try to ‘invoke luck’, to appeal to a super-intelligence for aid.

I then forcefully request to know what the winning numbers are, and select the very first numbers that come into my head.

After playing for nearly a year, the results are quite interesting:

I have twice picked the EXACT number, but for the wrong days draw! In fact, on these two occasions, the numbers came in for the NEXT draw (the draw for the next day). When this happened on the second occasion, I started recycling the numbers I picked, playing the same number 2 draws a row (you can do this on multi-draw ticket).

Sure enough, after a few weeks the same thing almost happened again… a number I picked for one day, didn’t come in that day, but came in the NEXT days draw…this time I won a major prize, since I had recycled the number…although I didn’t win the big one, I was only 19 numbers out! The experiment is continuing.
