First Blog Post

by Melody Fletcher on February 6, 2011

Today is the 2-month anniversary of the launch of the Deliberate Receiving website. I started the site as part of my own spiritual journey. Things – how the Universe works, how everything is energy and how it all interacts – had finally “clicked” for me, and I wanted to spread the word. And that’s what I’ve begun to do. The site offers articles (and soon much more), explaining the Law of Attraction in a pragmatic way. But while the articles discuss the principles, kind of a Life 101, I also wanted a forum where I could explore how to actually apply this knowledge to everyday situations. I wanted to interact more with my readers, and have a chance to build a community.  This blog is that forum.

I don’t yet know how often I’ll post. I plan to just write when I have something to say. And since I’ve never been accused of being too brief (this post is the shortest things I’ve ever written), I don’t anticipate anyone having to wait too long between posts.

So, welcome to the Deliberate Receiving Blog. I sincerely hope that you’ll find this entire site helpful.  Don’t be afraid to comment and let me know who you are.  :-)

Huge hugs,

Melody

Hey there! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this site? I’m getting sick and tired of Wordpress because I’ve had problems with hackers and I’m looking at options for another platform. I would be great if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.

Hi Filmy,

The blog uses Wordpress and is hosted on GoDaddy. I wouldn’t use a Wordpress hosted blog – there are too many restrictions. The rest of the site (Deliberate Receiving) is hosted and run on SBI. I’ve been quite happy with both so far.

Hope that helps,

Melody

Hey there,

On spiritual journeys (why are they called that, why not intellectual journeys)
How do we tell the difference between things we WANT to believe and the things that are actually TRUE?

And I’m not talking about our own “truth” or any lofty ideas like that. I mean solid truth that really happens.

e.g. I WANT to believe if I died I go to heaven and be forever happy. I WANT to believe there is some benevolent God watching my back and loving me.

What I actually KNOW or feel is sadly more true-

either
a) we are eaten by worms.

b) we get reincarnated which is worse than the worms. It’s like Russian Roulette– you might end up in a WORSE situation. After going through so much pain you could be reborn in a third world country, ugly, another gender (uggghhh as an ugly, poverty stricken person, whose job is to get lowered into the sewers)

I can’t get over the idea of punishment and lessons so I have this sinking feeling if I were lucky enough to escape my life and die “THEY” would force me to live it all again, maybe even worse…
No way I’m doing all THAT again.. *shudder*

Otherwise if heaven existed “for real” people would all jump off cliffs like lemmings! Eternal paradise? Hell yeah!

ya feel’n me? ;-) pfft I’m not sure how you write that phrase! :-) lol

Hey Kane,

Well, I think this comes down to the fact that you’re not giving yourself full permission to believe that this, right here, doesn’t have to be some horrific experience that we have to be delivered from. You can find heaven or hell right there on earth. You don’t have to die to experience either.

And if you see your current life as horrible, then it stands to reason that you’d harbor fears that it could be even worse next time.

If you focus on feeling better, however, you’ll get to the point where it’ll become easier to see how much control you actually have over your experience. When you feel empowered, you no longer fear nearly as much. You are not yet feeling the full extent of your own power. But stick with it. You will. :)

Huge hugs!
